The Plug The Glock plug is a molded piece of plastic that snaps inside the hollow cavity at the bottom of the grip behind the magazine. It purpose is to keep lint and dirt from getting in the hollow backstrap area and to help speed up magazine changes by providing a smooth, rounded surface at the back of the magazine well. The plug is available from several different manufacturers. There is even a version that holds several small tools in the backstrap area.
The usefulness of the plug has been the topic of many long-running discussions. One side views the plug as a simple, effective, inexpensive addition that should be installed on all Glocks. The other side believes it is a solution to a non-existant problem and a waste of $6. Back To Top
